The Board of the Finnish Foundation for Gaming Research decided in its August 23, 2013 meeting to grant three €2,000 travel grants for the APAGS Conference in Taiwan on December 1-4.
The recipients are Maria Heiskanen, Jukka Jouhki, and Jussi Palomäki.
On April 23, 2013 the Board granted a total of 34,340 euros for the projects of the following applicants:
MARIA HEISKANEN 840 € for conference travel
JUKKA JOUHKI & RONAN BROWNE 11 500 € for a film ethnography about Macao
JANI KINNUNEN 2000 € for conference travel
VILI MOISALA 4000 € for a Master’s thesis about a community of amateur poker players
FRANS MÄYRÄ & TYÖRYHMÄ 12 000 € for the Pelaajabarometri 2013 survey
NIKO SUHONEN & JANI SAASTAMOINEN 4000 € for international research-related meetings
The total sum of the Foundation’s grants in 2012 was € 198,000.
The funded fields of research were Anthropology, Criminology, Cultural Studies, Economics, Geography, Information and Interactive Media Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Social and Economic History, Social Ethics, Social Policy, and Sociology.
